How to identify which version of SQL Server 2000 is running?

To identify which version of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 is running, connect to SQL Server 2000 by using SQL Server Management Studio, and run the following T-SQL statement.

SELECT  SERVERPROPERTY ('edition'), SERVERPROPERTY('productversion'), SERVERPROPERTY ('productlevel')

Above query will return resulset like

Edition  -- for example - Enterprise
Product Version -- for example - 8.00.534
Product Level -- for example - RTM
